PPF Queenstown - Paint Protection Film
Stone chips are the one thing ceramic cannot stop. PPF can.
Queenstown roads throw grit, gravel and shingle at your paint every day. Paint protection film is the physical barrier that takes those hits so your paint does not. Installed at 175 Glenda Drive, quoted on your vehicle and how you use it.
Where PPF Earns Its Keep
Protect the panels that take the hits.
Most chip damage lands in the same places: the front bumper, the leading edges, and the lower sides on vehicles that work for a living. That is where we install film first - targeted protection on the high-impact zones. And if you want the whole vehicle protected, we do full wraps too.
It is the right call for new vehicles heading into a Queenstown life of gravel roads and highway grit, and for tradie utes and 4WDs that earn their chips on farm tracks and site access roads. Film takes the damage, your paint stays underneath it, unmarked.
What we protect with film
- -Front bumpers - the panel that takes the most hits
- -Leading edges and high-impact zones
- -Lower sides and sills on utes and 4WDs
- -Edge finish work in the style hard-working vehicles actually need
Every job is quoted on the vehicle, the panels and how you use it. Send the details and we will come back with a straight answer.
PPF + Ceramic
Film for the hits. Ceramic for everything else.
They are not competing products - they solve different problems, and the best-protected vehicles in Queenstown run both.
Paint protection film
A physical layer that absorbs stone chips, road rash and gravel damage on the panels that cop it. The only real answer to chips - correction can fix swirls, but a chip is forever without film.
Ceramic coating
Ceramic protects the whole vehicle from UV, grime, water spotting and wash damage, and keeps it easy to clean. It cannot stop a stone chip - that is the film's job.
PPF Options
Three ways to protect a vehicle with film.
Every PPF job in Queenstown is different, so every one is quoted on the vehicle. These are the three shapes most jobs take.
High-impact front
Film on the front bumper and the leading panels, where most stone chips land. The most common choice for a new car.
Work ute protection
Lower sides, sills and the front end on utes and 4WDs that spend their days on gravel, farm tracks and sites.
Full wrap
Stek film over every painted panel. We would ideally have the car at least 3 days so everything is finished perfectly.
PPF questions, answered straight
Do you do full vehicle wraps?
Yes. We install both targeted film on the high-impact zones and full vehicle wraps, using Stek PPF, a highly reputable South Korean manufacturer with excellent products. For full protection we would ideally have the car at least 3 days so we make sure to get everything perfect. Every PPF job is quoted per vehicle.
How much does PPF cost in Queenstown?
It depends on the vehicle and the panels. We quote every job individually. Send through the vehicle details and what you want covered, and you will get a real number, not a range that changes later.
Who does the installation?
Film is installed at 175 Glenda Drive by our PPF specialist, who has 8 years experience. Same workshop, same standards, one place responsible for the result.
Is it worth it on a work ute?
Utes that live on gravel, farm tracks and sites are exactly what targeted film is for. Sides, sills and the front end take constant low-level damage. Film means the paint underneath stays new while the vehicle keeps working.
Can I get PPF and ceramic coating together?
Yes, and they work well together. Film goes on the panels that take the hits and ceramic goes over the whole vehicle, film included, so everything is easier to wash. Both are done at 175 Glenda Drive, so the car only comes in once.
Do you install PPF for Wanaka, Cromwell and Arrowtown vehicles?
Yes. All film is installed at the workshop at 175 Glenda Drive, Frankton, and owners bring vehicles in from Wanaka, Cromwell, Arrowtown and across Central Otago.
