Car Window Tinting Queenstown
Tinting done at the same workshop that protects the rest of the car.
Queenstown sun is hard on interiors and hard on your eyes. Window tint cuts heat and UV, adds privacy, and finishes the look - installed at 175 Glenda Drive and quoted on your vehicle.
Heat and UV
The same alpine sun that ages paint fades seats and dashboards. Tint cuts the UV load on the interior and keeps the cabin cooler in summer.
Privacy
Gear in the back stays out of sight - useful everywhere, and worth more in a town full of carparks and trailheads.
The look
A clean tint finishes a vehicle the way a coating finishes paint. Legal shades, done properly, no bubbles and no purple fade later.
Front window tint is $295 when added to the New Car Protection package. Everything else is installed at our workshop by our specialist and quoted on the vehicle and the coverage you want - send the details through and we will come back with a straight answer. If you are getting ceramic protection or PPF done, it makes sense to do the glass at the same time.

Legal Tint in New Zealand
Dark enough to matter, legal enough to pass a warrant.
On a car, every tinted window has to let at least 35% of light through once the film is on. Utes, vans and most 4WDs have the same limit on the front side windows, but the glass behind the driver can go as dark as you like.
The limit is measured through the glass and the film together, which catches people out on vehicles with factory privacy glass. We check the vehicle first and only install shades that are legal on it.
Window tinting questions, answered straight
How dark can I legally tint my car windows in New Zealand?
On a car, the front side windows, rear side windows and rear window must each let at least 35% of light through once the film is on. On utes, vans and most 4WDs, the front side windows have the same 35% limit, and the windows behind the driver can be any darkness as long as the vehicle has a mirror on each side. Windscreens cannot be tinted. We only install legal shades, so the vehicle passes its warrant.
My car already has factory privacy glass. Can it be tinted darker?
Sometimes. Factory privacy glass is already dark, and the legal limit is measured through the glass and the film together. We check the vehicle and tell you what is legal before any film goes on.
How much does window tinting cost in Queenstown?
Front window tint is $295 when it is added to the New Car Protection package. Everything else is quoted on the vehicle and the windows you want done. Send the details through and we will come back with a straight answer.
